My business is what it’s become today, due to series of events that came together over the course of time. My name is Gina, owner of Ghost Booth Events.
I am lucky enough to have a father who has been in the Graphic Arts / Signage industry for over 30 years, I have worked alongside and continue to work and learn from him since I was 14. These foundational skills have always helped me in my projects and ventures, and I am so grateful to have the experience I have.
I went on to graduate from Monash University in 2014, with a Bachelor in Multimedia & Digital Arts (Interaction Design Major). My Graduate Project in my final year was a software I developed to allow a user to try on jewellery virtually, with the use of a camera, AR Codes and 3D Modelling. (In retrospect, I view this as a foreshadow of what was to come.)
I have worked at multiple print companies as a Graphic Designer, but I knew that I was meant for something different, in saying that, these skills from University, experience in the workforce, and years of experience and knowledge from my Father, are utilised daily and I am forever grateful for this.
In 2015 I landed my first wedding invitation client, where my love for weddings and events was ignited. I continued working with a focus on Graphic Design, Website Design & Development and Signage / Print.
In 2017, after stumbling across a listing for a Photo Booth machine on sale on Gumtree, I spent some time researching, then decided to take the jump into the world of Photo Booths and bought my first booth. Little did I know I would find a true passion here; the beauty of interactivity.
In 2020 I decided to build my own photo booth, called The Ghost Booth of which I launched a prototype model at the Australian Photo Booth Expo in Brisbane.
Throughout 2020 to current, COVID-19 has changed our lives forever, including mine and the perspective of my business, however, events have and will still go on. A shift was implemented towards digital, drop off and virtual event options, along with a safety model ensures that we can all continue to enjoy a booth experience!
I perceive a photo booth to be more than just a machine that prints a photo. It’s a device that enables connection, with technology and the tangible (photo print or digital memory), to create a memory that can be cherished forever.
My mission is to provide that experience to each and every client, coupled with an attention for detail and gorgeously clean aesthetics. I take pride in the quality, skills and unique, memorable experience that GB Events provides.
Thank you for taking the time to read, I look forward to working with you!
